Developing an Organizational Small Business Market Strategy in Partnership with Jobs for the Future

Main Street Assembly led the development of an organization-wide small business strategy for Jobs for the Future (JFF), a national, mission-driven workforce development organization. The work focused on aligning JFF’s workforce mission with the realities of small businesses, identifying where the organization could add the greatest value, and defining a clear path from strategy to pilot and long-term impact.

The engagement included:

  • Defining strategic goals, scope, and success criteria

  • Establishing shared principles for engaging small businesses and entrepreneurs

  • Conducting internal and external discovery with staff, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders

  • Assessing organizational strengths, gaps, and opportunities through SWOT analysis

  • Identifying priority focus areas for small business and workforce integration

  • Developing recommendations for near-term pilots and a longer-term small business strategy
